Impact Team Tennis at Avalon
2023 Spring League @ Avalon

What is Impact Team Tennis?
Impact Team Tennis is co-ed teams competing in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets. One set each of mens and Womens doubles followed by mens and Womens singles, ending with 2 sets of mixed doubles. Total games won from all sets determines the winner. Substitutions and coaching are allowed during the match. Click here to view Impact Team Tennis Rules

What is a Impact Team Tennis team?
A team must have two men and two women, as a minimum, to play in a match. However we require each team to register at least three men and three women (12 players maximum - local rule). This allows for periods of rest and missing matches. I have also substitutes for team back-ups, just in case.

Who can play?
Adults (18 & over) may sign up as a team or as an individual. Current end of year 2022 and self rated 2023 USTA ratings are used for the league. If you do not have an USTA rating, you must self rate on the USTA site through TennisLink as all players must have an USTA rating.

When do leagues start?
Play begins at the end of March.

Sign-Up Deadline: 25, March, 2023
At least two men and two women need to be registered by the deadline. However players can continue to signup/register after the deadline.

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
The levels of play being offered are 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0.

Determining Team Rating
The average NTRP rating of the top two men and top two women players on your team determines the team rating.

       Example:
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Tom- 4.5 Jill-3.5
  Bill- 4.0 Gail- 3.5
  Joe- 4.5 Mary- 3.5
  Jim- 3.5 Joan- 3.0

The best two men and two women are: 4.5 + 4.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 16. 16 divided by 4 equals 4.0.

This team could register for the 4.0 division or a higher division. A team consists of a minimum of two men and two women. Although the limit to the number of team members is ten, the suggested number of players is three men and three women. Click here to determine your NTRP level.

Can I register as an individual/substitute/team?
You can register as an individual (we will make every effort to find an existing team for you to join in any given season), as part of a partial team (we will assign other players to complete your team), or a full team. If you cannot commit to the entire season, we will place you on a substitute list. You will be called by myself or a team captain in the event they need a replacement player.

Note to substitute players:
Substitutes do not have to pay for the league at this time.

Why register via the Internet?
You are not an official league participant until you have registered online. When you register via the Internet site you will be e-mailed league information during the season and your Impact Team Tennis Member Benefits (Impact Team Tennis Point of Contact Newsletter, discounts on hotel, rental cars, 2 for 1 tickets, plus more).

What is the cost?
